Florida is full of unusual people and weird stories. There isn't a day without a new one in the news. And it's not so rare to see naked people running down the streets either. It is hot in Florida, after all. One alleged bank robber was apprehended while naked after he claimed he "decided to rob a bank, flee by running naked down the street while throwing the money stolen during the bank robbery to people, in order to begin his career as a comedian," the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. Perhaps 25-year-old Alexander Hayden Sperber hoped to be captured on a viral video that would shoot him to stardom or likely infamy. Instead, he found himself tackled by police, wrapped in a yellow tarp and taken to jail. The Sun-Sentinel reported Sperber entered a Regions Bank at 3:06 p.m. earlier this week and told the teller he had a gun. He warned the teller he'd hurt anyone if they didn't cooperate. He left with about $4,700. A red dye pack hidden among the stolen money exploded soon after he left the bank. The dye stained his clothes (which weren't on for long), the money and a cast on his arm. He shed the clothes and did what he set out to do, running in the streets naked while doing his best Robin Hood impression by tossing money at awestruck pedestrians. Sperber spent a little time at a nearby hospital before being charged with bank robbery. He reportedly was found to be in good health, with a sound mind and no injuries. The stunt came as a surprise to many who knew the young man. He wasn't without prospects, as his Linkedin profile states he graduated from Lehigh University in 2014 with a degree in Business Information Systems. The account also lists him as a current graduate student at Florida Atlantic University. He will spend the next many days in jail clothes instead of a classroom next semester. There is no word on if he will be performing any stand-up comedy while behind bars.
